The Morino Sail and Rigging plant launched in Yokohama in 1914, primarily producing canvas and rope for the maritime industry. Over the years that followed the company became known for its know-how and production skills, culminating in 1942 in their material being chosen by the Imperial Navy’s military supplies factory and used in the fleet. Following WWII, the Shipping Operations Association designated it an official factory and it soon became the world’s top engineering factory for shipping and rigging gear, various canvas materials, ropes and other items for the maritime industry.
